Meghan W. Sheahan began making jewelry in 2006 by repurposing thrifted jewelry as a hobby. She got hooked and made things faster than she could wear them. The next logical step was to sell her wares and a little business was born. Meghan wanted to further her skills and studied jewelry/metal arts at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts and California College of the Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area. The natural beauty of the Bay Area combined with her newly formed metal skills inspired a progression in style and technique.

Now back in the Midwest, Meghan continues to combine traditional metalsmithing techniques with organic materials, including wood, bone, minerals, precious and semi-precious stones. She uses collectors grade stones and has developed relationships directly with lapidaries (stone cutters). Using recycled metals and ethically mined materials is a cornerstone of her work. Her goal is to create unique, wearable jewelry that balances the organic materials with a modern, understated aesthetic. She regularly sells at local seasonal markets and art shows. You can also find Meghan’s work in local shops and beyond.

Meghan has an undergraduate degree in journalism from Marquette University and a masters degree in social work from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is passionate about social justice and mental health issues. She now works full time as a metalsmith and jewelry designer in her home studio. Meghan lives with her husband and two daughters near Milwaukee, Wis.
